CONVERSE JAPAN TO CELEBRATING THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF SUPER MARIO BROS

Converse Japan has apparently decided to be that one relative who sends you a birthday card months after the date by releasing a set of Chuck Taylor All-Stars celebrating the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. being released on the NES. Which, if you’re keeping score, was on September 13, 1985.

These Converse x Super Mario Bros. sneakers go on sale in Japan in April. The sneaks come in two versions on black or white canvas, and feature an all-over pixelated Super Mario sprite pattern with additional details on the tongue, and the ‘All-Star’ on the side tag turned into an invincibility star.

After a long long wait and three guerilla stores in obscure locations like Haji Lane, Chinatown and Bukit Merah, the first COMME des GARÇONS Singapore flagship store has finally opened it’s doors at the Hilton Shopping Gallery in Singapore.

The huge clean and minimalistic space was created and conceptualized by Rei Kawakubo based around the theme “Constructed Interrupted”. The idea is for customers to discover the shop through a series of half tunnels, semi-corridors, curved walls and metallic or wooden structures. Long time fans will be glad to know that this new space offers almost the entire range of the COMME des GARÇONS main lines: Comme des Garçons Play, Comme des Garçons Shirt, Comme des Garçons Shirt Girl, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Comme des Garçons Black, their perfume range as well as their much sort after wallets and accessories.
